San Antonio Residential Air Conditioning System Replacement
How do I know if it’s time for a new AC unit?
The easiest way to establish a baseline answer is to do the following:
- Check the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating. This rating is an indicator of efficiency and the higher the rate, the more efficient. Today’s standard SEER rating on new units in the U.S. is 13. Units before 2005 can have a standard SEER rating of 10. If you find your units rating is lower than 10, you could have high-energy bills. A new, high-efficiency unit can save up to 40% on energy.
- Locate the age of your unit – With today’s energy saving technology, units older than 7 to 10 years are considered too inefficient.
- Review service records – If you’ve invested a considerable amount of time and money for repairs to your unit repairs, it may be time to have it replaced.
At Arnold Moos Company we offer a variety of major brands to fit any budget. We recommend Trane, York, Carrier, and Ruud.
